Sundaraijal Children's Home

Management

I used to stay with my father and stepmother because my mother died 5 years ago. It was very difficult when I lived with them because my stepmother beat me every day and hated me too much. I had to do a lot of work in my home like washing clothes, washing plates, sweeping the floor, cleaning the table and many other things. I never went to school because I had to do a lot of work at home.

I used to carry heavy loads in a bag on my back to get some food. If I carried loads, my stepmother gave me some food, otherwise, she didn’t give me any. My father and stepmother used to drink a lot of alcohol and when they were drunk, they always used to beat me.
I felt very lonesome in that situation and I was crying and screaming, but nobody listened to me. My parents gave me very poor clothes to wear. It was very difficult for me to survive in this home and then I decided to leave this house.

Then I went to KTM, because I lived in a place a little bit outside of KTM. Then I started to work in a hotel. In that hotel I had to work very hard, like washing clothes, cleaning dishes, cleaning the dining room, sweeping the floor. The people beat me too and I had to sleep outside of the hotel on the street. I received some money and food for the work I did. I worked for 1 year in that hotel. It was very hard. One day Ram Hari went to this hotel and saw me and he imagined my bad situation and asked me about my background. Then I told him all about my background and Ram Hari offered me to come in Sundaraijal Children’s Home. In this time I had no contact with my parents.

Then I started to live in Sundaraijal Children’s Home. Now my life is going better than early days. I have enough food, enough clothes, enough good friends to play with. Now I go to school every day and I learn a lot. I like drawing very much. I study very hard in the school, I respect my teacher. and my friends respect me and I am very happy.

I like to study Management and I like to teach other people what I have learned in my life.

I am 17 years old, and next course I will start college, and also I will leave the house to live on my own.
